was a document made by king Charles that made it illegal for laws to be passed without checks and balances though very flawed it was the first instance of it in England. military could also not lock people up unlawfully or attack in times of peace. -

first covenant with basic elements of a constitution. was based upon popular sovereignty. provided trial by jury which was nice, -
English Bill of Rights
Allowed free speech and protection against cruelty in England and unusual punishment. the revolution established a constitutional monarchy. -

grants the states complete comtrol over to permit the sale of liquor and how to distribute the system. -

social security raised the taxes on Americans to provide elderly people who retired aid and financial support when they could no longer work. -

The principal of Hazelwood east Highschool changed the newspaper students had created. the students said that this challenged the first amendment right but the court ruled this was in the schools values -

The court ruled that offensive speech even such as burning the flag was protected by the first amendment. -
