    Reign of Silenius

Fondly remembered by the current generation as a golden age, in reality the reign of Silenius consisted of a long string of political crises. From the scramble for Terra to the Raa exodus to the battle royale that was the settling of Mars, each one could have spelled the end for the society had it not been for Silenius au Lune.

Following an unknown falling out, Akari au Raa calls his allies, assembles a colonisation fleet and departs for the Rim. Akari's assumption of the title "Hegemon of the Rim" shortly afterwards sparks a political crisis, though as he never renounces his allegiance to Silenius or the Society all out war is prevented and an uneasy detente is maintained.

    Rush for Mars

The newest addition to the Core, Mars was overlooked in the first round of Terraforming. While a few gold houses built mining outposts and small domed habitats on the planet, Mars held little appeal for the great houses of the Society. This would change in the year 131AC with the discovery of vast Helium 3 reserves, seeing new oppertunities many houses moved to and competed over the planet while house Cylus was put in charge of Terraforming.

    Death of the Lightbringer

In the year 142 AC house Lune sat firmly atop the pyramid, boasting dozens of well positioned, talented and highly regarded house members, marriage alliances with no less than 3 ArchGovernor houses, coffers overflowing with wealth, private fleets, private legions. The culmination of over a centurys' worth of political maneuvering by mankinds greatest statesman. But even Silenius was mortal, and when his scions looked upon the now empty morning throne, each one of them wondered... ..What if..

    Lune Succession Crisis

Upon Silenius' death house Lune split into two factions the Claudians and the Irenians, descended from his two children. What started as a shadow war of assasinations and political intrigue soon boiled over into skirimishes and open battle. As weeks turned to months the name Lune was spoken less and less in the Senate, with many believing the next Sovereign should come from another house. The crisis only ended when Theodora au Lune reunited the two Lune factions through blood and matrimony

    Rise of Theodora

A talented but untested young Legate of the Irenian branch of house Lune, Theodora was stationed on Mars when the crisis began, initially neutral she got involved when the crisis threatened to destroy the house. More a hammer than a scepter Theodora's approach to reunite her house was one of blood and violence only ending when a young Cornelius killed his own father and surrendered. Forcing Cornelius into bethrothal, Theodora reuinited the two branches of the house and was elected Sovereign.
  • Period: 142 to 199

Reign of Sovereign Theodora au Lune

While her rise was a bloody one, Theodoras' reign was largely peaceful. Among the crowning achievements of her reign was the reincoperation of the Raa into the fold through a marriage alliance. With the threat of civil war with the Rim no longer a major threat discussion on the Obsidian question is resumed, pushed especially by the Terran houses who are limited in their expansion by the large Obsidian reservations. Due to political considerations Theodora does not heed these concerns.
